Tennis Anyone?

It's our fourth try this tennis season to play as we once did 'sans enfants'.

James gets it. He happily plays on the the play ground. Or practices tennis on the wall.

Parker doesn't get it. He is very disrupting. Walking on the court. Fake crying. Throwing the balls around.

I almost accidentally whacked him with my racquet. Part of me wished it would have bonked him on the head. Like not so hard that he'd be injured but hard enough that he'd scram away to the playground for good.

Today we got in 15 minutes of disruptive play time.

Our aim is to play a minimum of 30 minutes of tennis with our two boys happily playing at the playground. Right now it's a pipe dream.

This 2 year old has the art of wearing us down...

MAD HOUSEWIFE

This wine label caught my eye instantly so I had to buy it.

I don't drink wine 'cause unfortunately it gives me instant heart burn.

But if this stuff could turn me into a happy housewife I'd drink a case of it.

Since becoming a mommy I've forgotten how to be a housewife.

I'm just quite useless at it.

That said, if there would be a label out there saying Mad Househusband I'd get a case of it too.

You know, just to make sure it isn't just me needing the fix.

Our Amazing Sitter...

One thing that changes when having children is your marriage.
That is what I was told by many of my girlfriends before the 2 boys arrived.
And indeed they were right.
Six months into parenthood Daddy and I realized that we were really missing each other.
We were parents 24/7 and forgetting to be a couple!
Not good.
So we hired a babysitter.
Yep, we were going to try going to a movie, a dinner, or an event once a week...just the two of us!
Regardless if we were too tired and rather just take the time to catch up on some much needed sleep. We were going out.
And it worked brilliantly.
Couldn't do without A (our amazing sitter).
Today A joined us at the beach (after she helped feeding the homeless at a shelter!)
With all our visitors we haven't seen A for awhile.
It was so good to see her.
The sad thing is that she is leaving in August to go study overseas.
We are very happy for her...Milan is nice...okay it's great and we are impressed by her smarts and work ethic.
But O we will surely miss her!

Date Night!

As many of you know the Epp's have a tradition of going to a movie every Friday night so when Aunty Monique offered to babysit Parker we took her up on it. On Saturday night we dropped Parker off at Aunty's and we went out and enjoyed a great dinner and a movie. When we returned we were surprise to hear that our muchkin did strange the whole evening while we were gone: quivering his lower lip and not wanting to be snuggled. Here we brag (continuously!) how good he is and then he does the opposite. But Aunty, being gracious and patient as she is, said she'd babysit again! I just hope next time Parker wears his angel wings and halo!
