Visit with Uncle Denis

This past weekend we had a visit from Uncle Denis from Saskatoon. We had alot of fun visiting, eating and touring. Next weekend (weather permitting) we are excited to have my parents and Kaitlyn for the weekend. Parker continues to grow stronger and bigger every day. Every Tuesday for the next couple of months a new ritual is set to begin - the removal of the cast. We are excited to see if any progress has been made. The removal is followed by a new cast every Wednesday morning at the hospital. We are not sure how long this process will take but we are hopeful it will be all better by summer. Jame's paperwork has now cleared the final hurdle. Once the High Commission in Ghana has reviewed the file, a immigration visa will be issued and I can make an expedited trip to Africa. We hope everyone is doing well and thank you all for your warm wishes.

Dr. says everything looks good...

Took little Parker in for his first Doctor's visit and everything is looking good. Parker now weighs 7lbs 2 ounces which everyone feels is excellent weight gain. We have all settled into a pretty good routine allowing each of us to get enough sleep. The week after next, Parker has his appointment with the orthopedic specialist to have a look at his foot. We may have to have a serial cast for several weeks which holds the foot in a progressive state of correction allowing his foot to straighten out fully at the last stage. More to come soon.

Never a dull moment

Parker had a bout of jaundice but a night under the lights has straightened that right out. Now that he is home, we are continuing to rehab his foot which became twisted from his position in the womb (I guess not enough room for him to stretch as he was breach for the majority of the pregnancy). Feedings are going really well with both Joanne and Parker doing their part. Joanne is feeling stronger everyday and is really enjoying this gift and as you can probably already tell, so am I.

Parker's first visitors...

Don't worry everyone, I promise to not turn into this chonic mass emailer of baby pictures- so this is the last one for a little while. Baby and Joanne are both sleeping and doing very well. Talk to you all soon,

Please meet Parker Richmond Epp!

It is official, Parker Richmond Epp has entered the world on 02/02/07 at precisely 2:07 AM. 18 hours later we are all back at home with Mother and Baby doing fabulous. Both Parker and Joanne have proven to be quite the naturals at breastfeeding with Parker latching on for regular feedings. Parker weighed in at 6 lbs and 15 ounces and was 50 cm's long. We couldn't be more thrilled. We will post more soon,

Michael and Joanne and Parker
