Play Date!

Friday was a play date with 7 kids under the age of 3 which included 2 babies! It was noisy, messy and lots of fun! Parker showed off his moves by kissing sweet Abbey!

Next time the mommies are wearing ear plugs!

Mommy's 1 year older

For my birthday I got to enjoy drinks and appies with great girlfriends! Tucking James before leaving he asked if I was going to yoga. I have to say having great friends is good for the soul just like yoga is so I said to him, "Yes, mommy needs to go to yoga!"

Pictures: Delphine (6 mo pregnant for baby #2), Nicole (mommy of 2), Lisa (mommy of 2), Teri (mommy of 2), and Terry (mommy of 3)!

The Life of a 1 Year Old

I heard that mom wrote on the blog that I was being a little bum when I woke up at 2AM crying. I was trying to communicate to her that my boots and bars were annoying the heck out of me. I tolerate it pretty good most nights but sometimes I just need a break from them! Is that bad? I head down to Vancouver in April to see Dr. Alverez. She is going to check the progress of my club foot and while I am there I will ask her if it's okay I get a break from them once in a while.

I can't sleep with blankets because they would get all tangled up in the bar that is between my two feet. Though I love sleeping on my side it is not the most comfortable when you got your foot at a 40 degree angle. I know I have to suck it up for just another couple of years but I just have to vent a little.

"No Parker, don't touch!" is a very common saying around here. I can't touch the stove, stereo, computer or anything remotely interesting. Are there any one-year olds out there experiencing the same thing?

Oh! I better go...I hear mommy saying, "Parker, no touch!"

Happy Friday!

I got a chuckle out of this cartoon! For all the adopted parents out there remember that for all the odd questions strangers sometimes ask there are hundred more beautiful comments and smiles! Have a great weekend.

Spring in the Air?

Just when I thought spring has finally arrived I wake up at 2:00 this morning to snow and a crying Parker. After 2 hours of trying to sooth Parker I take off his boots and bars and bang he falls asleep. The little bum! Since being breast milk free Parker has not been wanting to be soothed by me. I wonder if this is his form of revenge? "Mommy doesn't want to nurse me. I'll show her!" Now that he is eating solids full time he wants to feed himself and will nod his head yes or no to which foods he likes and dislikes.

James is becoming quite the helper around the house. He brings his dirty clothes to the utility room to get washed, dresses himself and takes off his shoes and puts them away in a meticulous fashion. He loves to ride his 'motor bike' (tricycle) but can't seem to get the pedal movement mastered. He continues to be the life of the party and when he gets carried away he does 'time out'. Yesterday he had to do a Gap Timeout! There he sat on the floor at the Gap...too funny!
